EMFL USER MEETING 2024

© EMFL. The EMFL User Meeting 2024 took place at the University of Nottingham on 11 June; after 2017, the second time at this place. The EMFL Board of Directors has chosen this venue to underline the continuing collaboration of the UK community with EMFL, through grant agreements between EPSRC and EMFL as well as with the three host laboratories in France, The Netherlands, and Germany. NEW TRANSFORMER AT LNCMI-GRENOBLE

A new transformer, financed by FEDER funds from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and the CNRS, has been installed on the CNRS campus in Grenoble. The Laboratoire National des Champs Magnétiques Intenses, one of the major research infrastructure of the CNRS, is now directly connected to the 225,000 V high voltage grid of RTE (Réseau de Transport d‘Électricité or „Electricity Transmission Network“). With a power of 60 MVA, this transformer now increases the maximum power distributed to our magnets from 24 to 30 MW. EMFL VIRTUAL TOURS

To interact with the general public the EMFL facilities often organize tours through the laboratories. Due to the Covid pandemic this has not been possible, as users were not always allowed to perform experiments on-site or had to follow strict regulations.
