Call for Secondment Grants

Dear Colleagues,

We are launching a new round of secondment opportunities to stimulate research in high magnetic fields and to improve further collaborations between the facilities of the European Magnetic Field Laboratory (EMFL), the regional partner institutions and the high-field user community.

The next call will come in due time.

This program is for secondments of scientific and technical staff between institutions, including early-career researchers (e.g., PhD students, post-doctoral researchers and research fellows). The secondment focuses on high-magnetic-field research and is aimed to stimulate work on all aspects of magnetic-field-related topics, such as the preparation of sophisticated experimental setups, the design, development, and testing of special high-field equipment, harmonizing techniques amongst the facilities and partner institutions, but also the discussion of experimental results as well as writing high-field-related publications. A secondment can last from a week up to a few months. We will fund travel and subsistence costs with a maximum budget of 2000 € per month.

The applications will be evaluated by the Board of Directors (BoD) of the EMFL based on scientific merit and relevance of the research for the advancement of science in high magnetic fields.

The BoD will contact all applicants with the outcome of their application.

If you have any queries about the secondment program, please get in touch with info@emfl.eu. For queries about secondments from/to the UK to/from the EMFL, please get in touch with Prof. Amalia Patanè (amalia.patane@nottingham.ac.uk). In her role of Director of the UK Partnership of the EMFL, she has received additional funding from the UKRI (UK Research and Innovation) for the secondment program.

Yours Sincerely,

Charles Simon

Chair of the EMFL Board of Directors

The ISABEL-project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No 871106.
