HFML EXCHANGE VISIT AT LNCMI-TOULOUSE

In May 2023, the HFML-FELIX technical user support group, Peter Albers, Lijnis Nelemans and Michel Peters, from Nijmegen visited the LNCMI pulsed-field facility in Toulouse. The aim was the exchange of knowledge on various magnet and measurement technologies between the two laboratories. Scientists and engineers from the LNCMI warmly welcomed the Nijmegen team and enjoyed two days of intensive discussions with their colleagues. Topics included magnet and cryostat technology, materials science, manufacturing techniques, probes, optical measurement techniques, and data acquisition. It was a very successful and entertaining visit for both sides, allowing the exchange of innovative ideas.

EMFL DAYS 2022 IN KERKRADE, THE NETHERLANDS

This fifth edition of the EMFL Days was organized in Kerkrade from September 19-21. About 120 EMFL staff members gathered right on the Dutch-German border, benefiting from Rolduc Abbey‘s sublime ambience and a serene autumnal atmosphere. The aim of the meeting was to continue to learn more about each other’s work at the different sites, exchange ideas, and define a common strategy for the future of EMFL. [emfl-users] Questionnaire all-superconducting high field magnets for EMFL

Dear colleague, The SuperEMFL project aims to design all-superconducting user magnets for the European Magnet Field Laboratory (EMFL). Through the development of high temperature superconductor technology, and its combination with low temperature superconductor magnets, DC magnetic fields in access of 40 T could be within reach in a reasonable time scale. The target of SuperEMFL is to provide designs of 32 T and 40 T all-superconducting user magnets, which are expected to partly replace current high-field resistive DC magnets at EMFL.
