There is no justification for Russia’s military attacks in Ukraine since February 24, 2022. As an international research consortium, EMFL condemns this blatant breach of international law. We reject any use of force to resolve political issues. The people of Ukraine – and especially our research partners there – can count on our solidarity.
Science thrives on worldwide exchange, for which peace is the fundament. People from many countries have been working peacefully together at our EMFL partner facilities for many years. We remain convinced that research can build bridges across national and political borders.
We fully support the sanctions imposed by the European Community and its international partners. For the time being, all cooperations with Russia and Belarus remain suspended. We honestly regret this development.
